Japan's Universities Need Substantial Changes, Report Says
Japan's education system "will become useless" without substantial changes -- including more rigor in higher education -- says a draft report of the country's National Commission on Educational Reform.
On higher education, the commission stressed that Japanese universities are not producing and nurturing the creative people Japan needs to lead it into the new century.
