Japan to Let Graduates of Non-Japanese Schools Take Qualifying Exam
Japan's Education Ministry plans to change its regulations to allow graduates of non-Japanese schools to qualify for admission to its state-run universities, starting in 2001.
Until now, the regulations have required students to complete a compulsory education in Japanese schools -- six years of elementary school and three years of junior high school -- to be eligible to take the daiken qualification tests.
