Japan Will Allow Universities to Grant Credit for Online Courses
Japan's education ministry has decided to allow universities to grant credit for online courses.
The ministry also is setting specific rules for online courses that include requiring faculty members to respond to students' questions by e-mail.
To educators in Japan, that regulation may appear onerous, because most professors here are not accustomed to having one-on-one discussions with their students.
