Ivy League Professors Heavily Favor Democrats in Political Donations

Employees at Ivy League universities gave far more to Democratic presidential candidates than they did to Republican ones — with about $352,000 out of $470,000 donated going to the leading Democratic candidates. That’s according to an analysis of campaign finance reports published in The Huffington Post.

Of the Republican candidates, the biggest recipient of Ivy League donations was Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts, with about $33,000.

The most Republican-friendly campus of the Ivies seemed to be the University of Pennsylvania, with 15 donations going to Republicans and 39 going to Democrats.
