It's Time to Rethink the Binge-Drinking Model

I am writing in response to your article "Will Drinking-Age Fight Elevate Role of University Leaders?" (The Chronicle, online edition, August 22).

As I argue in my recently published book, Student Bodies, concerns about undergraduate alcohol use and abuse date back to at least the early 20th century, yet the solutions that have been proposed have shifted markedly over time.
