Israeli Appeals Court Upholds Libel Judgment Against Academic but Reduces Damages

An Israeli appeals court has upheld a libel judgment that resulted from a dispute between two Israeli academics, but drastically slashed the damages.
Neve Gordon, a professor of political science at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, had sued Steven Plaut, an associate professor of economics at the University of Haifa, after Mr. Plaut described the pro-Palestinian group in which Mr. Gordon was active as "Judenrat wannabes."
