'Islamic Fascism'
In a procession of recent speeches by several senior figures in the Bush administration, America's enemies were characterized — in the president's words — as "Islamic fascists." The emergence of the phrase to describe various Islamic terrorist groups has sparked a maelstrom of controversy as scholars, pundits, and politicians quickly joined the fray, debating whether the term is accurate or useful.
