Iowa State Changes Minority Program
Iowa State University has agreed to open a summer program to nonminority applicants in response to pressure from two advocacy groups that oppose race-conscious admissions policies.
In a letter sent to the two groups this month, Iowa State's general counsel, Paul N. Tanaka, said participation in the Iowa State College of Agriculture's Summer Research Internship Program "will not be limited to minority students" after this year.
