Investment Strategies at Other Small Colleges
T ransylvania University is not the only small or midsize institution that has found ways to build an endowment. Hamilton College, in upstate New York, with an endowment of $486-million in the 2004 fiscal year, enjoyed 18-percent returns last year, compared with the average of 15 percent.
