Internet2 and National LambdaRail Will Merge After All

The big Internet merger is back on.

Almost a year ago two consortia that run high-speed computer networks for researchers scotched plans to merge, announcing that they were unable to find common ground on a host of organizational issues.

But now the boards of the two groups, Internet2 and National LambdaRail, have agreed to complete a "definitive agreement to merge" by April 20, according to a statement signed by Jeffrey S. Lehman, chair of Internet2, and Tracy Futhey, chair of
