Internet2 Plans Electronic Directory of People in Academe
The Internet2 consortium of research universities will try to build a Web directory of millions of people in higher education. The directory would be, in effect, an electronic "white pages" of students and faculty and staff members, with information about how to communicate with them electronically over the Internet.
Officials hope that the guide could be operational sometime this summer. It would be accessible to all users, not just those at institutions with high-speed network
