Two Hamilton College alumni have been defeated in their petition bids for seats on the New York institution’s governing board, the college announced on Tuesday. The two candidates, Ben S. Wu and Peter D. Brown, are active in Hamilton College Alumni for Governance Reform, a group that has criticized the college’s administration and mounted a similar, unsuccessful bid by petition candidates last year (The Chronicle, March 10). Mr. Wu and Mr. Brown fell 121 and 334 votes short, respectively, of winning one of three open seats on the board.
