Instructor Is Fired for Selling Stock in Online-Course Venture to Students
Santa Clara University has fired an adjunct instructor who sold his students thousands of dollars' worth of stocks in an online-education venture that appears never to have gotten off the ground.
A Santa Clara spokesman said that students of Ronald J. Mitchellette had bought a total of $23,600 of stock in the Virtual Education Network, a company Mr. Mitchellette had established to offer online college courses. Mr. Mitchellette had been employed as an adjunct
