The University of Washington's answer was to create the Global Support Project, a one-stop shop for faculty and staff members doing research or running programs abroad. The Global Support team connects those working overseas with experts in key offices who can offer advice in dealing with obstacles abroad, and it identifies impediments to international work. So how did they do it? Join Ann Anderson, leader of the Global Support Project, for the first in a series of talks on how colleges have tackled some of the basic challenges of internationalizing their campuses. As leader of the Global Support Project, Ms. Anderson, who has been at Washington for nearly 20 years, interacts with faculty and staff members in many departments across the university, working on issues such as accounting and reporting, grants and contracts, procurement, and payment processing.
