Indiana U. President Will Run the NCAA

The National Collegiate Athletic Association has chosen a college president who took on a sports legend as its next chief executive.

Myles Brand, president of the Indiana University System, agreed to a five-year contract to be the NCAA's president last week in Indianapolis. In a news conference following his selection, he said his immediate goals were to meet with as many of the NCAA's constituencies as possible before putting together a strategic plan for the association.
