Indiana Settles Suit Over Aid Eligibility

Indiana students who are legal U.S. residents but whose parents are not would be able to benefit from state scholarships for low- and middle-income students under a proposed settlement the state has reached with the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana.

The settlement plan, which requires a federal court's approval, would end a class-action lawsuit originally filed last March on behalf of a high-school senior who was a U.S. citizen but was denied aid under the state's 21st Century
