Increasing Regulation of Animal Testing
To the Editor:
Your coverage of the agreement to include protection of birds, mice, and rats used in laboratory research cites inaccurate claims that animal-research groups would be saddled with "an additional $80-million to $280-million in administrative expenses annually" and "would add a lot of burden there, not just in terms of finances, but in terms of time and effort as well" ("U.S. Will Increase Regulation of Research on Birds, Mice, and Rats," October 13).
