Your article "In California, an Unusual Partnership Expands the College Track" (The Chronicle, July 6) depicts only one of the many laudable efforts to assist students from the Sweetwater Union High School District in pursuing a college degree. While San Diego State University's Compact for Success has expanded educational opportunities for some students, the reality is that a vast majority of students from the Sweetwater District enroll at Southwestern College because
