In the Wake of Eco-Vandalism
Even back when she concentrated her research on the likes of barley, the lure of the humble potato positively bedazzled Margaret J. Gilpin. "I always wanted to work with them -- they're so much nicer, they grow so much faster, they have so much more ... potential," she gushes, with the undisguised enthusiasm of a longtime resident of this city of New Zealand's South Island.
