In the Storm
Janae Johnson, a freshman at the Perkinston campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, pulls up to her dormitory in a blue Mazda Protegé with two of her friends, also students here.
Ms. Johnson's family home in Pass Christian, Miss., is gone. She doesn't want to go back to where it once stood, she says: "I might cry."
She is here to collect more clothes, and to see her possessions. They are all she has now.
