RESEARCH VETO: Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California has vetoed $3.8-million in state spending that lawmakers had set aside for research on labor and employment at the University of California system and for education and research on labor conducted by industrial-relations institutes at the university's campuses in Berkeley and Los Angeles.
