In a Turbulent Year, Virginia Tech Rallied Behind Its President
Many people predicted that Virginia Tech's president, Charles W. Steger, would lose his job after the massacre on his campus last April.
University officials had overlooked the threat posed by the disturbed student, critics said. Virginia Tech should have locked down the campus after the first shootings. Someone should be held accountable, and the buck stops with the president.
