In Washington, 2 Calls for Reform of College Athletics
Pennsylvania Avenue was the place to be last week for advocates of reform in college athletics.
At the Willard Hotel, a Washington landmark, the Knight Foundation's commission on college sports heard presentations from shoe-company and television executives, as well as people on opposing sides of the gambling issue.
Next door, at the National Press Club, Indiana University's president, Myles Brand, called for representatives of the top six athletics conferences to band together
