In Pennsylvania, Students Express More Apathy Than Excitement
Sean M. Meloy acknowledges that his fervent interest in politics makes him sort of a "freak." He started watching Crossfire, a CNN political-debate show, when he was 13. He founded a Young Democrats club at his high school, near Pittsburgh. Now, as a senior here at Pennsylvania State University, he is president of the campus chapter of the College Democrats.
Last week, with little time before Election Day, his job was to keep 27 students who'd gathered for a meeting of the College
