SHUTDOWN IN ISRAEL? A faculty strike that began in late October may force Israel's universities to cancel the semester.
This month the National Labor Court declined to order senior lecturers, who are striking over pay, back to work. University presidents, who had asked the court for an injunction to force professors back to work, then met to discuss whether it made sense to continue classes, the Haaretz newspaper reported.
