FLEEING FRISCO: The American Anthropological Association will move its annual meeting from San Francisco next year, as it did last year, because of a labor dispute involving the city's hotel workers. The association will instead meet in San Jose, Calif., in 2006. Last year's move, announced about a month before the 2004 meeting, caused the organization to lose money, as many of its members decided to skip the event.
