PAY-FOR-GRADES SCHEME: State prosecutors have accused a computer-laboratory technician at the City University of New York's LaGuardia Community College of taking alcohol and cash — including at least one $2,500 payment — from students in exchange for altering their grades. A 137-count indictment said the technician had improved students' grades by changing computer records in the registrar's office.
