In Australia, the Boom in Foreign Enrollment Continues, With One Exception

Despite the economic downturn in Asia, the enrollment of foreign students in Australian universities increased markedly in 1998, as it has in every other year since 1988. Specialized intensive-English colleges in Australia have been hit hard, however; their student numbers are down by 40 per cent.
