In 2001 Budget, White House Revises Tax Breaks and Seeks $200 Rise in Pell Grant
In his last year in office, President Clinton will press Congress to approve an ambitious package of proposals designed to make college more affordable for students and their parents.
The president's plans, which he unveiled in a news conference last week, would both provide significant increases in the federal student-aid programs for the neediest students, and broaden tax breaks aimed at helping middle-income families to afford tuition bills.
