Penitence at Bob Jones University? Until just two years ago, the fundamentalist Christian institution wouldn't let white students date members of minority groups. Now the university itself is embracing them, or so it seems.
University officials say they are aggressively raising money for two scholarship funds that were set up a year ago to help minority students answer the clarion call of Christian duty -- and to help polish the university's image.
