Protesters at the University of Illinois here are still fighting to dump Chief Illiniwek as the campus mascot.

The depiction of the American Indian has caused controversy for years. Last week, 200 students and faculty members held a rally on the campus. About 700 people have signed a petition asking that the chief be retired.
