When I think of this debate over intelligence versus intelligences ("Not Every Child Is Secretly a Genius," The Chronicle Review, online edition, June 15), some images come to mind. As a Red Sox fan, I think of former Red Sox left fielder Manny Ramirez, who, though goofy, can hit a fastball (or any pitch) as far as the eye can see.
