If Black College Students Do Poorly, There's Plenty of Blame to Go Around

It is upsetting to find a sensationalistic title such as "Prestigious Colleges Ignore the Inadequate Intellectual Achievement of Black Students" (The Review, September 13) introducing an anecdotal evaluation by one professor of English at one liberal-arts college, known for its discriminating selection of students and isolated setting in a predominantly white region.
