A team of laser-wielding architects from Texas Tech University is making sure that Lady Liberty's measurements are on record. The creator of the Statue of Liberty, Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, left no blueprints and few design sketches. So the National Park Service tapped Tech in 2001 to help with conservation and historical studies, including this project. The terrorist attacks of September 11 gave the measurements new urgency.
