IRS Delays Reporting Requirements for 2 New Tax Credits for College Costs
The Internal Revenue Service gave college financial-aid officers some breathing room last week, announcing that it would delay for another year a set of stringent and costly reporting requirements related to two tax credits for tuition.
The I.R.S. said that institutions would, through the 2000 tax season, be allowed to continue following the relatively minimal reporting requirements in effect this past winter for the Hope and Lifetime
