IBM Will Give Stipends to Employees Who Want to Become Math and Science Teachers
IBM, long known for its computers, will soon be known for its teachers, too.
The technology company has announced that it will give financial help to employees who want to leave IBM to teach science and math.
The shortage of such teachers and the decline in Americans pursuing math and science careers prompted the company to create the IBM Transition to Teaching program, says Robin G. Willner, vice president for global community initiatives.
