A Harvard University student in the midst of a hunger strike was hospitalized on Tuesday, the fifth day of a protest on behalf of higher pay for campus security guards, The Boston Globe reported. A total of 11 students are refusing to eat until the guards win better working conditions from AlliedBarton Security Services, the company to which Harvard has outsourced the work. The protest parallels a similar effort five years ago on behalf of Harvard’s janitors. —Andrew Mytelka
