Huge Student-Aid Program in California Is Plagued by Problems
Bureaucratic snags continued to plague a massive student-aid program in California last week, as community-college officials rushed to file required grade reports after they missed a deadline and left thousands of students at risk of being ineligible for the grants.
Much of the money allocated for community-college students in the Cal Grant program for 2001-2 has already been given away. As a result, some students who might have received the aid had their grade reports been submitted
