Howard U. Joins in Community-Development Effort
Howard University has recently joined the colleges nationwide that are trying to spur community development.
The university and Fannie Mae, a company chartered by Congress to provide home mortgages, will develop 28 unoccupied buildings and 17 vacant lots into single-family houses. The houses will be made available to Howard employees, who will be eligible for low-rate mortgages and financial assistance for
