How to Keep Good College Presidents on the Job, and What to Pay Them

Rita Bornstein alluded to one solution to the problem of failed college presidencies: A new president should immerse himself or herself in the culture of the university before proposing widespread, drastic changes ("Why College Presidents Don't Last," The Review, November 14).
