How to Improve Student Retention
To the Editor:
The major premise offered by Watson Scott Swail in "Legislation to Improve Graduation Rates Could Have the Opposite Effect" (The Review, January 23) is simply wrong. When he writes that "colleges can't improve retention if they don't have the necessary financial support," Mr. Swail has apparently not appreciated the greater significance of an institution's allocation of resources.
