How to Handle Racist Practices in Fraternities and Sororities
To the Editor:
All that periodic pressure on fraternities and sororities seems to accomplish is generating a heap of negative press for the universities involved and angering the white elite ("New Scrutiny for Powerful Greek Systems," June 8). The Chronicle framed the issue as a problem of "bigotry" in "powerful" elite campus organizations. Why do we not present the problem as one of classism? Should the fight be to get more people of color into the token ranks of the ruling class
