How Not to Be President of Harvard
To the Editor:
I should first state that I am one of the Harvard alums (along with my mother and many friends) who is very pleased about Lawrence H. Summers's resignation ("The Power of Professors," The Chronicle, March 3). But there were several elements of your coverage of the story that I found troubling.
First, with respect to Cornel West, only the timeline with the article mentioned that Summers accused West of habitually missing classes; in fact, he had excellent class
