How Do We Know Who Uses Drugs?

Like others on my campus, I was intrigued, then fascinated, by the account of Gennady M. Danilenko's exposure as a drug mule ("The Puzzling Path From Professor to Drug Mule," June 8). It was only later, as second thoughts surfaced, that I was bemused by the implication that academe is a world apart, impermeable to the depredations of drug abuse and the drug trade.
