The unfortunate essay by Mark Sagoff, "Why Exotic Species Are Not as Bad as We Fear" (Opinion, June 23), sounded logical and might be persuasive to the scientifically uninformed. However, it was based on a misunderstanding and contained demonstrable errors of fact.
