How Community-College Leaders Can Reach the Top and Stay There
COMMENTARY
I became a community-college president rather quickly. I had less than three years of administrative experience, all as chief academic officer at two community colleges. Over the years, I have been asked how I reached what some consider the top of my profession so quickly. I always give the same answer: The escalator came by, I got on, and I rode it up.
