House of the Rising Sun
Boulder, Colo., may not be the sunshine capital of the nation, but that didn't keep a group of architecture and engineering students at the University of Colorado from putting the sun's rays to good use. Last week, the team took first place in the Solar Decathlon, a 14-university competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy to design and build the ideal solar-powered house.
