House Passes Tax Bill With Benefits for Donors
The House of Representatives passed legislation last month that includes tax benefits that would encourage more charitable giving to colleges and other nonprofit groups.
The provisions, which higher-education lobbyists sought, were part of a bill that would allow federal funds to support more faith-based groups that provide social services.
