House Passes Delayed Appropriations Bill That Would Increase Some Student Aid

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a spending bill for the current fiscal year on Wednesday, less than 24 hours before President Obama was scheduled to release his budget for the 2010 fiscal year.
The House-passed measure, which would finance most domestic programs—including student aid and research—through September, now heads to the U.S. Senate.
