House Panel Seeks Flat NEH Budget
A House of Representatives appropriations subcommittee voted last week to maintain current spending levels for the cultural endowments for the 2002 fiscal year. Democrats on the panel said they would like to be more generous to the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities, but they acknowledged that it would be difficult to get more money.
